Programs great for kids

Dana Point Harbor offers many great youth program that introduce kids to sailing. Most of these programs are open to the public and no yacht club membership is required. Even better, some of the programs are offered free by the yacht clubs and the Dana Point Youth Foundation, a nonprofit organization supported by donations from the public.

Dana Point Yacht Club Youth Sailing Program

Whether for pure fun or the excitement of competitive sailing, Dana Point Yacht Club provides the opportunity for youth to become involved in sailing at all levels, from learning to sail to advanced racing. They have an outstanding summer sailing program that is open to both club members and to the public. The Dana Point Yacht Club works with the Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation to maintain one of the largest fleets of foundation owned Lasers.

Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation
The Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation is passionate about sailing and strives to improve the lives of young people by bringing that energy, enthusiasm and education to the next generation of sailors. By participating in sailing activities, children and teens are exposed to a unique form of physical fitness. Also, because sailing is a team activity, participants gain important communication, social and leadership skills, and increased self-esteem—life skills that they will carry into adulthood. Sailing also teaches young people to be good stewards on the ocean's resources.
